🇦🇺 Sydney, Australia | The Essentials

After over two years, Australia have opened their borders again! If you're planning a trip down under to be sure to add these on your itinerary.

1. Where to Stay? 💤

QT Hotel – An old Hollywood film themed hotel with quirky decor in central Sydney CBD (Market Street), including in-room cocktail shakers and unlimited movies to watch for free. The hotel is an an excellent mid-range option for £120-£150 a night, with excellent access to transport across the whole city.

2. What to do/ see? 🗺

In Sydney: Explore the small independent boutiques in Gould street, grab a coffee and take on the Bondi to Coogee walk. Pack your swim gear for a dip in the Coogee lido, followed by a refreshing cold schooner (beer) and the Nutella pizza in the Coogee Pavilion to refuel.

Outside Sydney: Head to the Blue Mountains, a 2.5 hour westbound train out of Sydney takes you on this essential excursion outside the city. With breathtaking views. once home to the indigenous tribes which extend as far as the eye can see. Combining this with a distinct blue haze which originates from a fine mist of oil exuded by the eucalyptus trees. This truly is a sight to behold and a must see on your trip to Sydney.

3. Where to eat? 🍽

The Potting Shed - In Alexandria, Surrey Hills. An instagram worthy oasis in the middle of an industrial estate. Great for groups looking for a good cocktails but be sure to book. The Shed Burger and the Pineapple express get a thumbs up from us!

Mr Crackles – After a few drinks in Sydney this is our pitstop on the way home. The Sticky BBQ Pork roll for $15 on the way home would ward off any impending hangover. Whilst pork is undoubtedly their speciality, there are a couple of vegan options here too. Drink responsibly people...but make sure to schedule that stop here in your taxi too.

4. Where to drink? ☕

The Glenmore - Whilst tourists will descend upon the Sydney Opera House for the uber expensive harbour side cocktails, you need to get to the Glenmore. A multi-level pub with roof top bar and DJ. An amazing chilled destination that looks over the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour with unbelievable chicken wings. Do not miss this!

5. Where to take that Instagram worthy photo? 📸

Take a day trip to Manly, soak up some rays and be sure to get the ferry home at sunset for some magical Instagram shots. The View from the ferry looking onto the Harbour bridge and Sydney Opera House is the money shot!
